The Emily Jordan Foundation Projects
The Emily Jordan Foundation Projects is the new sister charity of The Emily Jordan Foundation in Kidderminster and supports people with learning and physical disabilities to lead fulfilled lives.
We are situated at Tintern House in Stevens Park, Quarry Bank after a major refurbishment of the building and the ground of the park in partnership with Dudley Council, The National Lottery and The Emily Jordan Foundation.
What do we do?
The Emily Jordan Foundation Projects provides:
Work-based support projects for people who are in receipt of funding, supplied by the Local Authority following a social care assessment. Sometimes people are funded via another provider, or they choose to self fund through their own means.
Services designed for young adults in transition and for adults with learning and physical disabilities who would like to develop their skills and to be involved in work related activity to their own ability level.
Support for people to develop, socially and emotionally, whilst learning new skills. For people with more complex needs we offer a good days opportunity to mix with their friends and learn skills, whilst for those with moderate learning disabilities we focus on skills development, to enable those that can to move forward towards work.
We also aim to support, if possible, people who are struggling to get into the workplace, but do not get the same degree of financial support from local authorities. This is one of our primary Charitable aims.
-
Spokes
We ask the public to donate their old bikes. People with learning disabilities then re-build these, with support, for sale to the public.
All repairs, services and builds are checked by qualified technicians and bicycles are always tested before being sold.
-
Twigs
This is our horticultural project, where people with learning disabilities learn how to grow and nurture plants, again for sale.
We will also be selling wooden items made at our sister charity site in Kidderminster.
-
Go Green
This is for people with more complex needs. They are supported to re-cycle a variety of products and get involved in light assembly work.
